Bio: My name is Klarissa Jones. My husband, Randy, and I were both born and raised in Arizona. My journey in childbirth education actually began in high school. I was completely amazed with the human body and how it worked. During college, I also fell in love with teaching and took as many education courses I could while working on my Biology degree. I received a BA in Biology with the hope to be able to combine my passions one day. When I became pregnant with my first child, I wanted a natural birth. However, I didn’t realize that to have a natural birth in a hospital setting, a couple really needs to be prepared. I had a natural birth, but it came with many interventions that I was not prepared for. I learned my lesson and I took a Bradley® class with my second baby. My birthing experience was very different this time around. My husband knew how to respond to me in labor and knew techniques to help me relax. He felt confident and an active participant. I made good choices in pregnancy and labor since I knew my options. The best part of all, my husband, my baby and I bonded together as a family. I was ecstatic and knew that teaching this method was my calling in life. We now have four children and all have been beautiful, life changing experiences! I believe childbirth is a natural, normal physiological process. Women who are given the proper support, encouragement, information, and freedom can have amazing, empowering birth experiences.

I am a single mom of two girls, 15 yr old(adopted at five) and 4 yr old with special needs. My daughters birth and special needs journey changed my life and I became a birth worker. I am in my passion now and feel so blessed to do what I love to support my kids. I have found that education is the door to a positive birth experience whether it’s a natural birth or not. Our bodies are amazing and created perfectly to give birth. Once we learn how and why our bodies work, we are empowered to make better decisions and guide our own birth the way it was intended. I teach a lot about “UnDisturbed Birth” and how your partner can support you in the way you need him too. My classes are fun, informative and not your typical HypnoBirthing classes. I also lecture at the University and Nursing colleges, training student nurses in how to support Natural Birth. This year I am going to be teaching doctors and nurses as well. One of the girls who works with me is LDS as well. Finding the right care provider is the key for a good birth and I am happy to help answer any care provider/hospital questions whether you take my classes or not. You don’t get a do over in birth – so educate yourself and enjoy it! Hugs…

I believe that birth experiences have the potential to be amazingly beautiful! OCEAN Birth is an acronym that encapsulates my values and philosophy. I believe that birth is Organic - everything essential for a healthy birth and a beautiful experience is already contained within each woman, and only in rare instances is it necessary to intervene in the divine process. Creative - not only is pregnancy and birth a time for the creation of a new little life, it is also a time of creation for each woman and her family as they become more, in every way, than before. Empowering - each woman, each family, has the opportunity throughout the birth process to lay claim to the strength, courage and dignity that is theirs! Attainable - the birth experience that you want can be yours! Noble - the sacrifice, commitment and love required to bring a child into this world make birthing a truly noble act, worthy of the highest respect.

Bio:
I have been a birth professional for nearly 7 years. I believe birth is a normal and natural process that we, as women, are divinely called and able to do. I believe sometimes there are complications and circumstances that require extra support and/or help and having a birth professional at your fingertips can provide a peace and confidence that cannot be accurately described. My experience has taken me to over 50 births, personally taught nearly 200 couples and I have been able to work with hundreds of birth professionals directly with Brio Birth. I have served as a co-Leader for the International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN) facilitating a safe place for mothers to learn and be supported in unnecessary cesarean prevention, VBAC support and cesarean recovery. Overall, my experience, coupled with my firm foundation in my faith, has taught me that parents are competent and powerful beings that can and will take responsibility for themselves and their children. I believe in education, not opinionation, to foster this process and empower the couples that I am privileged to work with.

Bio:
Women’s bodies were made by a loving Heavenly Father to work right—including when giving birth. There is so much fear surrounding birth, even in our LDS culture. It doesn’t have to be painful to give birth. And giving birth can be safe and it can be one of the most beautiful, satisfying experiences in a woman’s, and her family’s, life. Birth can be much more gentle and safe for babies than is presently the case in the United States.
Read all about it in my book, Wise Childbearing, What You Must know before having Your Baby in the United States. Learn more about the Association for Wise Childbearing at www.AssociationforWiseChildbearing.com

It would be my pleasure to meet you.

Bio: I have been a childbirth educator and doula since 1997. Since that time, I have been passionately engaged in arming couples with a more complete knowledge of their options for pregnancy, childbirth, and everything that comes thereafter. As a result of searching for healthiest birth and parenting experience possible, I have extensively studied different healing modalities such as herbs, nutrition, and essential oils and regularly teach classes on herbs, vaccination, and other health related issues.

Profession: Independent Natural Childbirth Educator

Bio: I have been teaching childbirth classes since 2008. I began by teaching The Bradley Method but last year decided to become an independent instructor so that I could modify and refine my classes to suit my teaching style and beliefs. I chose to become an educator after comparing my experiences with my first and second births. The first was an all natural hospital birth and the second was twins born via cesarean section. I was so deeply affected by each that I knew I had to help and empower other women to have the best birth possible. I love what I do and hope to continue expanding my credentials in the natural childbirth community to include certified doula and lactation consultant in the next few years.
My classes are currently held in my home in West Valley. For more information and current prices and starting dates please visit my website: www.blossomcb.com

Bio: I have been blessed with three beautiful sons. Their births have
taught me much about myself and helped me to grow and learn in ways I
never knew possible. My first two birth experiences were not ideal and honestly quite
difficult and included very challenging recoveries; one a cesarean and
the other a vaginal birth with an epidural. After my first two births
I knew that I wanted things to be different the next time I had a
baby. I began to research natural childbirth and it all just felt
right. I hired a care provider that was supportive of my goals and
whom I felt confident would help me to safely birth my baby. The birth of my third child was beautiful. My perspective on birth completely changed after he was born. I experienced how birth is meant to be—it can be gentle, kind, and peaceful. Birth has become my passion. I feel so empowered by my last birth experience that I want every woman to know her capabilities to birth.

Website: http://www.birthspecialist.com
Bio: I believe that giving birth is a significant experience for women, and I am passionate about helping them make it the best experience it can be. I discovered an interest in childbirth in my first pregnancy, as I was reading to try to make up for what was missing in the hospital childbirth class I took. Coming from my background as an educator, I was shocked to realize my own lack of childbirth education, and I knew I was not alone. I felt that there were too many women out there who, like I had been, were approaching the monumental task of giving birth without good preparation. I felt drawn to helping other women give birth with knowledge and confidence, rather than fear. My own children's births have each been unique, and each has has taught me valuable things about how I can support each woman as she navigates her individual birth journey. I have been a birth doula since July 2010 and a Hypnobabies Instructor since August 2011. I offer birth doula services, including 2 prenatal visits, personalized birth support, and 1 postpartum visit, and group and private six-week Hypnobabies childbirth hypnosis classes. See my website for schedule and rates.

Bio: I had my two children at home in Utah before I moved to Washington. I couldn't have done it without feeling prepared through the HypnoBirthing program. I was given the tools to bring my babies into the world gently and calmly while working with my body. I learned how to use self relaxation to get the maximum benefit of my body's work while thinning and opening. My 2nd baby was 10lbs3oz and I never once had any soreness after he was born. I attribute that to the wonderful techniques I learned. I began teaching a a year later, wanting to share how this gentle wonderful program can help preserve natural birth, or even assist a woman who wants medication. Fear is an enemy to smooth birthing which we discuss in detail. Mothers will learn to listen to their own body's cues, stay relaxed, use effective breathing techniques to birth baby smoothly. I am always happy to answer any questions. Feel free to contact me any time!
