Bio: My name is Klarissa Jones. My husband, Randy, and I were both born and raised in Arizona. My journey in childbirth education actually began in high school. I was completely amazed with the human body and how it worked. During college, I also fell in love with teaching and took as many education courses I could while working on my Biology degree. I received a BA in Biology with the hope to be able to combine my passions one day. When I became pregnant with my first child, I wanted a natural birth. However, I didn’t realize that to have a natural birth in a hospital setting, a couple really needs to be prepared. I had a natural birth, but it came with many interventions that I was not prepared for. I learned my lesson and I took a Bradley® class with my second baby. My birthing experience was very different this time around. My husband knew how to respond to me in labor and knew techniques to help me relax. He felt confident and an active participant. I made good choices in pregnancy and labor since I knew my options. The best part of all, my husband, my baby and I bonded together as a family. I was ecstatic and knew that teaching this method was my calling in life. We now have four children and all have been beautiful, life changing experiences! I believe childbirth is a natural, normal physiological process. Women who are given the proper support, encouragement, information, and freedom can have amazing, empowering birth experiences.

I am a single mom of two girls, 15 yr old(adopted at five) and 4 yr old with special needs. My daughters birth and special needs journey changed my life and I became a birth worker. I am in my passion now and feel so blessed to do what I love to support my kids. I have found that education is the door to a positive birth experience whether it’s a natural birth or not. Our bodies are amazing and created perfectly to give birth. Once we learn how and why our bodies work, we are empowered to make better decisions and guide our own birth the way it was intended. I teach a lot about “UnDisturbed Birth” and how your partner can support you in the way you need him too. My classes are fun, informative and not your typical HypnoBirthing classes. I also lecture at the University and Nursing colleges, training student nurses in how to support Natural Birth. This year I am going to be teaching doctors and nurses as well. One of the girls who works with me is LDS as well. Finding the right care provider is the key for a good birth and I am happy to help answer any care provider/hospital questions whether you take my classes or not. Bio:
I have been a birth professional for nearly 7 years. I believe birth is a normal and natural process that we, as women, are divinely called and able to do. I believe sometimes there are complications and circumstances that require extra support and/or help and having a birth professional at your fingertips can provide a peace and confidence that cannot be accurately described. My experience has taken me to over 50 births, personally taught nearly 200 couples and I have been able to work with hundreds of birth professionals directly with Brio Birth. I have served as a co-Leader for the International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN) facilitating a safe place for mothers to learn and be supported in unnecessary cesarean prevention, VBAC support and cesarean recovery. Overall, my experience, coupled with my firm foundation in my faith, has taught me that parents are competent and powerful beings that can and will take responsibility for themselves and their children. Bio: I recently graduated from Midwives College of Utah with an Associates Degree in Midwifery and obtained my Certified Professional Midwife credential from North American Registry of Midwives. I am licensed to practice in Idaho. As one of three midwives with Agape’ Birth Services in Rigby, Idaho I provide full prenatal, birth and postpartum care. I have worked with Agape’ as an apprentice for 3 years while pursuing the CPM credential, and have attended about 150 births. Before that I worked as a doula for hospital births. My husband of 34 years, Steve, teaches Bradley Method childbirth preparation classes with me in our home in Ammon. We have 6 children and so far 6 grandchildren.
