Bio: My husband and I moved our family to Pocatello (from UT) in 2005. I have worked out of my home as a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist since 2003 and carry Young Living Essential Oils. We have five children, each was born without medication. I am passionate about natural birth and helping women have the birth experience they desire. I believe in birth! The main risk of technology is it's side-effects and overuse. Trusting birth is knowledge, faith and patience... God our Father created the birth process - trying to control or change the aspects of it creates disharmony, which affects emotion, healing, bonding and well being; for the baby, mother and parenting. I am learning midwifery as an essential part of emergency preparedness and to safeguard the laboring mother (and father) through the birth experience. I recognize birth as an empowering, unifying experience for the family unit.

I became a licensed midwife through the Seattle Midwifery School Challenge process in California and have attended over one thousand births as a midwife. I have been a midwife since 1994 and my husband and I have opened three waterbirth centers, as well as a non-profit birth center in Haiti. I have nine children, ranging from one to 21 years old (Ashlen, Arwyn, Elian, Tristan, Rowan, Dorian, Keegan, Galen, and Elora) and one grandson (Gideon). I met my husband, Fernando, while we were attending Brigham Young University in 1986. Fernando currently helps with the administration of our birth centers. Other than taking care of the birth centers and attending births, I love to go on family outings, garden, ski, and play in the ocean. I serve women during their pregnancy and birth in my birth centers or their home. I provide continuity of care in a warm and safe environment. I am passionate about birth!

Bio:  I have been attending births since 1985 and have attended over 1200 successful (and drug free) births.  I have also given birth 8 times myself (all natural) and have delivered 10 of my 11 grandchildren!  I enjoy teaching and writing and am a current preceptor for the Utah College of Midwives and a regular speaker at Dixie State College.   I have apprenticed several midwives.   I teach a free community class on the first Wednesday of every month at the St. George Library at
6:30pm; The public is welcome.   I also have DVDs available for viewing childbirth preparation classes in your own home.  Even after all of these years, I still thoroughly enjoy my work, as if every birth is my first.   I believe that birth is sacred and should be reverenced.  I LOVE babies and believe in treating them as if those first few moments will determine their whole outlook on life.  Pregnant and laboring women not only need physical care but also emotional and spiritual support.  This is where hospitals are lacking, however, SAFETY always comes first.  Good prenatal care, careful monitoring of both mother and baby, humble prayer and listening to inspiration WILL assure a safe outcome.  My rates are honest and reasonable.  Consultations and tours of our facility are free.
